If I’m in the area and need a place to work, may I work out of the Butzel office?
Of course. We can almost always provide workspace for our clients. Please contact your legal team, and they will coordinate a workspace with our operations group.
What should I know before visiting your office?
Each office has unique parking and entry procedures. Please visit our Offices page for details and instructions.

Please verify with your legal team. Firm administration operates from our Troy office, and general mail may be sent to:

When will I receive invoices?
Invoices are issued monthly in PDF format and emailed from AR@butzel.com. Add this address to your safe sender list.
How can I submit payments (ACH, wire, check)?
Payments may be made via ACH, wire transfer, credit card, or check. A secure online payment portal is available:

Can I set up recurring payments or auto-pay?
Recurring payments may be available depending on engagement type. Contact the accounting team at AR@butzel.com for details.
Are there billing policies or terms I should be aware of?
Invoices are due upon receipt. Balances older than 30 days appear on monthly statements.

How will documents be shared securely?
Butzel partners with best in class data providers to setup siloed virtual data rooms for secure file transmission.
Can I use your portal or encryption tools?
Yes. Butzel utilizes secure client portals and encryption tools to facilitate safe document sharing and communication. Please contact your legal team or technology@butzel.com with any questions.
What technology does Butzel use to protect sensitive data?
Butzel adheres to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) best practices for processes, standards, and encryption technologies for data at rest, in transit, and protected data such as PII and PHI.
What is the Firm's stance on use of AI?
The Firm acknowledges that AI as a technology provides value and is used in limited capacities to provide higher quality work product, yet is strictly overseen to adhere to our legal and ethical obligations to our clients.
